The Limits of Damage Limititation
when I pay for my
stuff at the auto-tills
in supermarkets, I
try to use the
machines on
the end
that way
I know which
side to place
the stuff
on
yet, I
still seem
to get it
wrong
Tough Window Love
Whist on trains, bolting
through countryside, I
like to gaze out the window
catching sight of some
lone cottage, or someone
walking a dog in the
expanse of fields and
trees and I think
that’s a bit of me
right there
dwelling
for a while
fully
indulging in the
fantasy
until
I see my
reflection in
the window payne
reminding me that
for all the isolation
one could possibly
long for, I’d still
be stuck with
that prick
Biscuit Sinners
When I sit in church and
look around, all different
types are sat inside
like a box of broken
biscuits
beatifical
busted
pigeon-holed
labelled
free and
full of
joy
all of us sinners in
our own way
trying to get
at least one
thing right
when that’s
hard but
we try
